What’s the difference between a standard and standing desk?

The concept of smarter working centres around empowering people to take control of their working habits through flexibility and technology. So, when the pandemic suddenly hit in 2020, it was no wonder that the value of adopting a smarter, healthier working environment grew in popularity. We’re entering a time where employees want their working lives to fit around them, their families and their happiness; not the other way around!

That’s where our desks come in. When you hear the word ‘desk’ you might just think of four wooden legs with a top. Basic. That’s not what we’re about. We’re changing the way the office environment is perceived and we want to show that your desk can be so much more than just an eyesore in the corner of the room. It can be stylish, ergonomic and drastically improve your health.

Integrated features

One of the biggest differences between My Smart Desks and regular static desks is the seamlessly integrated features that allow you to work smarter and without a cluttered workspace overflowing with wires and extension cables. After all, a tidy space makes a tidy mind!

At My Smart Desk, we’re all about offering the most convenient and helpful technology to ensure our customers are working in the most efficient and productive ways possible. Whether it’s wireless charging or automatic height adjustment, you’re sure to find it on a My Smart Desk. Not to mention the dedication we put into ensuring our customers are heard. We believe the feedback we receive from our customers is vital in ensuring we’re offering the very best. We’re always looking to evolve and improve our products, with us already having released version 2.0 after we listened and learnt what our customers really needed.

Increased motivation and lowered health risks

Time to address the elephant in the room; our desks are height adjustable. There is an abundance of research into the effect that sitting can have on the body, showing evidence that links inactivity with health issues such as being overweight and obesity, type 2 diabetes, some types of cancer, and early death. (Source: NHS).

The UK Chief Medical Officers' Physical Activity Guidelines report recommends breaking up long periods of sitting time with activity for just 1 to 2 minutes. (Source: NHS). Simply opting to stand while you work, even for a fraction of the day, could drastically reduce serious health risks.

When it comes to our health, we all want to do the best we can, where we can.

Add a little style

If smart working is all about freedom and empowerment, then it seems like adding a little style to the work day is a no brainer! Our smart desks are designed with the modern consumer in mind; we don’t want to offer the same old boring working space as every other brand out there, we want to offer a unique and stylish working environment at an affordable price.

We currently offer two neutral colours to suit any space, and our seamless touchscreen and wireless functions offer a smooth and visually appealing surface. Sharp corners, bulky legs and limited space is definitely something My Smart Desk doesn’t offer…we’ll leave that to the standard desks!

So now you have a little more understanding of what makes our desks so different to the ordinary, it’s time to try one for yourself. Give yourself the office space you deserve with My Smart Desk
